Titus Drinking Wine -
"This work depicts a friend of mine named Titus. He is drinking a sangria in my imagined New York City apartment. Titus wears these awesome orange tinted lenses in his seeing eye glasses. He really thinks he is cool with those, I beg to differ. In my actual apartment I have an abundance of plant life so I had to include that in the work. There’s a little bruise on one of the leaves because I’m still working on my green thumb in real life. I have always loved pottery and I put a vase in the work that reminds me of Shio Kusaka’s work. She is a LA based artist that is married to Jonas Wood. The art work hanging on the wall behind Titus is one of Lucien Smith’s famous rain paintings. I have a lot of admiration for Lucien and all he has been able to do in the art world at such a young age." - Michael C. Thorpe
