Artist Bio

Salome Rigvava is a Georgian born and New York based artist whose captivating paintings explore identity and gender roles through the lens of fairy tales, allegories, historical narratives, and fantastical realms. Rigvava's artistic journey took her to the New York Academy of Art, where she earned her MFA in 2022. 

 

At the core of Rigvava's artistic practice lies an exploration of identity and gender roles, skillfully woven into her compositions through the use of symbolic imagery and storytelling. Her paintings often feature recurring motifs of flowers and interior scenes, inviting viewers to delve into the depths of her narratives and unravel the layers of meaning embedded within. Her works serve as a powerful catalyst for discussions on identity, gender roles, and the complexities that shape our perceptions of self and society.
